Valentine’s Day Placemat

I had these old lamination sheets my husband brought home a while ago. I wasn’t sure what I would “laminate” so they sat on the shelf for quite some time. My daughter wanted a Frozen theme birthday so we cut out a bunch of snowflakes to hang from the ceiling. Then it dawned on me that I should use the smaller snowflakes and make a placemat with the lamination paper! Genius.

Fast forward and Valentine’s Day was coming and I remembered those super cute Frozen/winter placemats we made. I thought it would be so fun to make a Valentine’s Day placemat filled with hearts and XOXO all over. My daughter had the best idea to cut a heart outline for the letter ‘O’ in XOXO. Adorbs. They turned out so cute! You could totally write “BE MINE” or “I LOVE YOU” or “I’M YOURS” too.

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR VALENTINE’S DAY PLACEMAT:

-lamination sheets (or contact paper)

-red construction paper

-pink construction paper

-purple construction paper

-black construction paper

-scissors

HOW TO MAKE VALENTINE’S DAY PLACEMAT:

1. Lay a sheet of lamination down, sticky side up. If you’re using contact paper, cut it to the size you want and lay it down sticky side up.

2. Cut out hearts in different sizes and colors.

3. Cut out XO letters.

4. Lay out your placement before you decide to stick it down. Once you like your design, place it onto the sticky side of your laminate or contact paper.

5. Use another lamination sheet and place it sticky side down on the top of your design. Trim any exposed sticky edges.
