Valentine’s Day Pop-Tart Pouches

Any last minute party planners out there? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Totes forgot I pinned these adorable pop tart pouches from Handmade Charlotte. They had to be made this year. And I happened to be going to Walmart to pick up a prescription too. How does that relate? Their valentine section is fire for V-day. I’m obsessed. Their little trinkets are so.freaking.cute. I snagged some goodies to stuff inside these pop tarts. Now we can make them! Tomorrow in fact.😁

We’re not pop tart eaters but I love the fun frosting colors and rainbow sprinkles. We don’t pass up that kind of opportunity around here. However, now that I think about it… I did eat them a lot as a kid. I think the pink ones, toasted. It’s all coming back to me now… ✨ (yes, sung like Celine Dion).

HOW TO MAKE VALENTINE’S DAY POP-TART POUCHES:

1. Pull apart the bottom of a brown paper bag. Cut it down at the bottom crease. Then cut two 8x10 pieces for however many pop-tarts you want to make.

2. If your kids don’t know what a Pop-Tart is, like mine, look at pictures of Pop-Tarts on the computer. There are so many designs, color combos, and flavors! My kids decided they wanted to make chocolate Pop-Tarts.

3. Paint the crust on both pieces. I used tempera paint.

4. Once the crust dries down, paint a swirly rectangle for the frosting.

5. Add glitter for sprinkles!

6. Color and glue the printable onto the back of the Pop-Tart.

7. Stitch a front and back together with a straight stitch. Leave one side open to add the prezzies inside. Then sew it closed.

Nom nom! Makes you wanna run to the store and see if they taste as good as you remember!

These Pop-Tarts ended up having a mind of their own! E and Vi didn’t like any of the ideas I brought to the table, which is totally fine. You do you boo. It’s more of an invitation anyway. They can do whatever they want. I think they turned out really cute though and added their personality to them!
